Exhibition Statement:
Pixel Ink Gallery and Radio Active present “Cinema Stories” a group exhibition of cinematic artworks.
Artists nationwide were invited to submit artworks that were influenced by film or reflective of the cinematic process. The show will host eight breakthrough and seasoned artists from the Wellington region, Auckland and Dunedin. Cinema Stories illustrates the correlation between art and the film industry. Providing audiences with insight into how the different aspects of film influence each artist.
The line-up features Wellington artists Rosalind Clark, Tom Simpson, Kiran X, Rosie Harper, Miss Mica Still and Melissa McDougall, alongside Ingrid Boot (Auckland) and Andy McCready (Dunedin); who showcase their diverse cinematic styles.
Works include symbolic storyboards, concept art, street art character studies, visual interpretation of the filming process and more. The collection of cinematic paintings and digital illustrations reel together in this art house exhibition spectacular.
